27/07/05  East Meath zones land adjacent to Bremore Port
Meath County Council have rezoned 240 acres of land at Gormanston, Co Meath for Industrial and logistics development in the East Meath Development Plan.
17/05/05  Chambers of Commerce of Ireland Visit Port

The Transport Council of the Chambers of Commerce of Ireland were this week in Drogheda holding a National Transport Policy Meeting.  The visit was hosted by Drogheda Port Company who gave a detailed presentation to the Council on the company's future development plans both in Drogheda and the new Deepwater Port at Bremore.

22/02/05  New Deepwater Port included in Fingal Development Plan

Drogheda Port Company welcome the decision by Fingal County Councillors to insert a specific objective in the Draft Fingal County Development plan to facilitate the development of a new deepwater port at Bremore.

 

05/01/05  Marine Minister Pat the Cope Gallagher Launches Government’s Ports Policy Statement 2005
Marine Minister Pat the Cope Gallagher today launched the Governments Ports Policy Statement 2005. The Minister said that the policy statement aimed to better equip the port sector and its stakeholders in order to meet both national and regional capacity.
09/12/04  Development Strategy 2004-2024
Drogheda Port Company announces its long term strategic development strategy (2004-2024) which was formally approved by the board of the Drogheda Port Company on 10th September. The strategy contains three main development strands and intends to position Drogheda Port Company as one of the most progressive, modern and efficient Ports in Ireland over the period.
03/12/04  Winner of 2005 Annual Arts Commission announced
The fourth Drogheda Port Annual Arts Commission has been awarded to local architectural furniture designer, Mr Joe Lawler. Submissions were invited from local artists for an internal sculpture or piece of art in any medium based on a maritime or port related theme.

Drogheda Port Company welcomes the publication and key recommendations in relation to infrastructure of the Report of the Enterprise Strategy Group.
02/07/04  Third Arts Commission Unveiled
Drogheda Port Company is very pleased to announce the unveiling of a triptych painting based on the port and its environs, which will form the third piece in its successful Annual Arts Commission. The painting will be unveiled on Wednesday 4th July at 1pm in the Droichead Arts Centre on Stockwell Street.
23/05/03  2003 Arts Commission Unveiled
Drogheda Port Company is very pleased to announce the unveiling of the very first sculpture in their annual arts commission in the Droichead Arts Centre on Tuesday 3 June at 1pm.
30/04/03  Update on Port Expansion Study

As part of the ongoing study process the consultants have now presented from the original study area a total of 11 sites to the company as having the potential to cater for additional port facilities. The sites are located in the planning jurisdictions of Drogheda Borough Council, Louth County Council, Meath County Council and Fingal County Council.

06/01/03  John Moloney Winner of Second Arts Commission
Drogheda Port Company is very pleased to announce that their second Annual Arts Commission has been awarded to local artist, Mr John Moloney. Submissions were invited from local sculptors and artists for an internal sculpture based on a port related theme. The response to the Commission was excellent with the standard of entrants very high.
03/09/02  Port Company Announces Study on Port Potential
Drogheda Port Company has commissioned a major study to assess the future potential of the town’s port in the light of the increase in cargo movements since the successful opening of Tom Roe’s Point Terminal in 2000, and in light of the considerable projected increases of trade to and from Ireland over the years ahead.
12/02/02  Geest Ireland and Norfolkline to expand their Irish operations
Effective 12 March, 2002, Geest Ireland Ltd and Norfolkline are to extend their joint container service linking Rotterdam and Drogheda in the Irish Republic to include a weekly call in Belfast.
11/02/02  €6.6 Million Development Boost for Drogheda Port

Drogheda Port has received a major financial boost to allow for further expansion of the port. Funding for projects totalling €6.6 million have been approved by the Government.
